Christmas Traditions

Some of our Christmas traditions....we love our elf, her name is Belle and she is just silly.  The kids get a kick out of her.  So far, she has climbed our tree, wrapped the tree in toilet paper, hung from a wreath (then Kya wrote Belle a letter, which Zander decided to put in Belle's arm), read a book, hung from the microwave, stole Carl's ipod, done Kya's homework and probably gonna play a game with some friends tonight.  Every morning the kids look for her and Kya is convinced that she is gonna catch her moving.
Abuela sent the kids an early Christmas gift and Kya and Zander were so excited to be able to open a gift before Christmas.  Thank you Abuela.
Another tradition we have is one night before Christmas the kids want to have a sleepover in front of the tree and tonight was especially fun with their new blankets and pillows.  But man were they in a silly mood.  We had a great night laughing and hanging out.  Definitely holding my kids a little tighter tonight after the tragedy in Connecticut today.  Carl and I are very blessed.

Some funny things today:

Dad: Zander, what do you want to get mom for Christmas
Z: a heart

Santa:  What do you want for Christmas little guy
Z: a heart for my mom
(what, am I the tinman?)

Kya:  Mom, I saw Santa leave the church and he drove in a truck
Mom:  Well, he landed his sleigh and reindeer at the airport and so he has to drive back there in the truck.
Kya:  Do we drive by the airport on our way home, I really want to see the reindeer.  (I love seeing the magic alive in my kids, even my realist daughter)

At our ward Christmas party, Santa visited,
Zander:  I told you Santa was coming to town, in our church!
