Much needed update post

The weekend before Valentine's Day the kids were away with gma and gpa...which gave Carl and I great weekend to just hang out together.  We had so much fun.  Had a couple's massage...dinner and went to Hand's On and made Valentine's gifts for the kids.  It was so fun.  The kids loved their gifts....(picture below)...we made the popcorn boxes...they love their popcorn when we watch movies.  Carl makes really yummy movie popcorn.

Kya had a Valentine party at her school.  So we got all dressed up for the occasion.  I took the day off from work (now that I have a great manager hired...yay) and helped out with her party.  They exchanged Valentine's...Kya made balloons with a blowpop inside and a little puppy card...of course.  They played games and decorated cookies.  It was a fun little party.  I love being apart of the kids' activities.

Now that I am home more...I have more time to do fun activities with the kiddos...we have been playing a lot. I taped up a maze (like a lazor maze) that they had to try to get through without touching the twine. (pictures below) We have been making playdough crafts...currently working on making dinosaur bones to bury in the backyard and dig up like dinosaur hunters. Zander has some cargo pants that he hasn't wanted to wear very much. I told him they were dinosaur hunter pants with pockets for his tools for digging and putting the "bones" in. He now wants to wear them everyday. He has such an imagination. So now he asks, "where my dinosaur pants?". I will post pictures of that when it stops raining and we are actually able to bury and hunt.

Lately, the kids have wanted to help me out with the dishes. I love that. I haven't really even asked for their help...they just want to. Wonder how long that will last. :) I usually let them "wash"/rinse the dishes before we put them into the dishwasher...they have fun and make a watery mess. They say they are my "good" helpers....they sure are. (pictured)

Now I am caught up...we are to St. Patty's Day. A few days before we made rainbow pictures with Fruit Loops and cotton balls. Zander got a few rows of the rainbow done before he was ready for a "new project". Kya finished hers and wanted to give it to her kindergarten teacher. She did a great job...sadly I did not get a picture of the final project. But it was beautiful.

What the Leprechaun left for the kiddos...toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, gum, golden nuggets, toys...all green of course. He even left behind some footprints. We didn't catch him though...tried with our cool Leprechaun trap and a chocolate gold nugget. He was too fast, didn't catch him.
