Our plan was to camp over Memorial day weekend...but the weather was supposed to be rainy and cold. So we went up to Challis instead...where Carl shot his bear.
We did a lot of fun stuff and the kids had a blast. Gotta say, I am still a city gal and would much rather be in the city going to museums, art in the park, concerts, shows....etc. But I really did have a great time watching my kids enjoy the outdoors.
We rode horses...well the kids did....
We roasted marshmellows...daddy makes a great fire....
We went fishing....
Kya shot her first bird and she was so excited (guess I won't be able to get my daughter to be much of a city gal with me...but look at that smile...priceless)
While daddy chopped wood for a friend...I took the kids "hunting", with their toy guns...I was trying to be like daddy and teach them proper safety while carrying their guns. Kya kept telling me that they were just toys, but I was insistant on teaching her safety...toy or no toy.
Of course Zander was loving the gun idea and making all sorts of shooting noises. What a boy!
Here we are pointing our guns up while walking...gotta admit, pretty cute.
A girl, her gun and her dog...my dream come true. (little snicker)
Ok...some of my favorite moments in life, is when I find my kids playing together or reading together. This just makes me smile.
and Today...they were looking for bugs. How fun, remember when you did this as a kid...looking for bugs to play with. In Zander case...show mommy and then squish the bug. Kya just wants to find a leaf, use it as a blanket and make a home for all things...bugs, animals, any creature that is not human.
AH....there it is.
I love my kids...I love my life...I love each day...no matter what we are doing!

Sounds like a fun weekend - even if the whole shooting animals thing makes me a little squeamish.
Loving the fun pictures--I can't believe how big the kids are getting! They are so stinkin' cute.
The kids are so cute. they are great kids and I am so glad you are teaching them gun safety. If you don't do it with play guns you don't do it. I am so thankful to you Paula for letting them be like their dad. Someday they may decide they don't want to hunt but I appreciate you letting them try it for themselves. The photos are much appreciated even if it took me a month to look at them.
Oh, I can't wait to see them!! What an amazing family you have!!
Love you guys!
