My new "stach"

Ok, so a little update of my latest. I have been home recovering from my surgery to fix my broken nose. It has not been comfortable at all. It has been really nice having my mom around. She has spent everyday this week at my house taking care of the kids while I rest. Carl took a picture of me in the recovery room after surgery. Obviously I am still out of it a bit. He thought my new "hitler stach" was pretty nice. Had to wear this for three days before the bleeding really stopped enough to just pat my nose dry. I still have the splints in my nose until next tuesday and they are really driving me crazy. Headaches, conjestion, my face just aches and my teeth hurt. I am not sure how much is from the surgery and how much is still from the accident. I finally got dressed and went out yesterday...it felt good to get up...but it felt even better to get home and lay down. I look forward to the day when I can blow my nose again.
Christmas is just around the corner and I would really like to be able to feel good by then. I am sure I will, it just feels like the days go by so slow when you are just sitting around doing nothing. A big change from my usual schedule.
The upside and best part of all of this is that I have had a lot of time to just hang out with my kiddos. Zander is such a cuddler that he will just sit with me and watch a movie...I love it. He is such a mammas boy, he always wants me to hold him. His latest, he will tap me on my shoulder or arm, say "mom" and then point to something he wants to show me. It cracks me up. Kya has loved the time she has spent with Grandma Morgan too. She has been a big helper getting Christmas ready and wrapping gifts. She really is a little mom to Zander. So I guess if it takes a broken nose and surgery to slow me down and chill with my beautiful children...then it was all worth it.
I got all my Christmas shopping done before the surgery and I can't wait to see the kids faces on Christmas morning. Kya totally gets into it, but this is Zander's first Christmas where I think he will really care and get excited. I love watching the kids get excited about things. Zander gets even more excited when he sees his sister jumping up and down with thrill.
We got some more snow today too...I really hope it stays around long enough for us to have a white Christmas. I love the holidays, just wish I wasn't so miserable right now. Well, that's enough complaining for now...I am too tired now.

Hang in there! Glad you are getting some rest... Even if it is forced!
