Much needed update.

So I was going to post some great pictures of Kya making cookies with me this morning, we made GREEN pancakes, with GREEN syrup and GREEN applejuice. Kya was totally getting into it...that's my daughter for sure. Zander just wanted to eat the pancake...didn't care about the color so much. But when he went down for a nap, we made cookies and iced them green.

I have been meaning to post a journal entry for a while, but just haven't had the time. This will probably be a quick one and when I can get my computer to actually upload pictures, I will post pics later. So the last few weeks have been physically hard on us. Carl's back continues to bother him and according to the doctor yesterday, just more meds and injections for now before diving into surgery. Carl wasn't too happy, he just wants the pain to go away...I don't blame him. I feel so bad for him...7 months of pain can be really wearing on you.

Then there is my dang bladder...anyone want to donate a new one to me...hahaha. Just before we left for Hawaii I had a cystourethroscope...NOT FUN! But we finally (medically) diagnosed me with Interstitial Cystitis. Like a UTI, only ten times worse and ALL the time. Since we finally know for sure that that is what is wrong with me (one of my many ailments and issues) we are now treating it with daily antiinflammatory pills instead of antibiotics. Diet is really the only way to manage it...no cure. So now that I have cut out any citrus (all those yummy fruits), any tomato based foods, red sauces, some veggies, AVOCADO (boohoo), can meats, nuts, many dressings and condiments, spices and seasonings among other foods....OH ya, CHOCOLATE...(dang it), I am now down to bread, pasta, water, milk and anything else bland you can think of. Talk about boring.

But after one evening of indulging on a lemon lime drink (2 to be honest), I have been paying for it for two weeks...even with medication. So diet management it is.

Another post later I also want to do an update on my little Zander, he has more personality in his little finger than most people do in their whole body. He cracks me up. Again, all for another post, but his latest...HE IS WALKING...and I love it.

Well, ta ta for now, ran out of time.

Holy cow, your new diet sounds harsh and un-fun! I hope that it will calm down all the symptoms and be worth it for you. Sorry to hear that Carl's back isn't doing so well either... another un-fun thing for you guys. Yay for Zander walking and Kya being so into holidays, just like her mom! You guys are so fun. :)

Oh My!! I'm so sorry you're going through that stuff! What happened to Carl's back? Carl had horrible back pain for A LONG time as well that they treated with pain meds and it ended up being a bleeding ulcer!! Hope it turns out okay, his being so tall must put added strain on it, tell him we're sending him well wishes! And you are too youg to cut out all that yummy stuff, I can't imagine...well if anyone can come up with creative diet management it will be you, you should write a book of your recipes when you get through it!! Please give the kiddo's big hugs and smooches, I miss them so much! I can't wait to see video of Zander walking!! Love you guys!

do you want a bottle of xango? I know it's not a cure all, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. It has tons of anti inflammatory properties in it. Let me know and I'll get you one asap. poor thing :( that's crazy all the foods that make it act up, I'm sorry!

good question, i've been meaning to do some research for you, but haven't had the chance yet. I'll let you know. I just know my mom had IBS really bad and she was so worried about drinking it because any fruit she ate really made it act up and she takes an ounce each day now and can eat everything she wants again. It really is amazing for her. I definitely don't want to make it worse for you though, I've had bladder incections before and those are the worst so I can't imagine what you are feeling. I'll look into it and let you know.
