Needed a Break...went to Boise.

So, life is pretty crazy right now....so many different things going on in my business life, family life and personal life. I needed a break. Carl had a work conference in Boise this week and since they put him up in a hotel....we followed. Went swimming in the pool, sat in the hot tub (which was all of our favorite...the pool was too cold), went out to dinner (Cheesecake Factory), Cabelas (Daddy and Kya loved that...ok, ok, I like the fish tank), and we even made a trip to the Zoo. I love Zoos and Kya loves animals, not sure how Zander feels about all this yet, but he seemed to enjoy looking around.
Last weekend was my brother's open house and I just had to post this picture with EJ and his little buddy. Zander just cuddles with EJ everytime they get together....too cute.

I lucked out with a gorgeous daughter who loves the camera. As a photographer, it helps when your subject hams it up and brings some great personality. Every time I asked Kya to pose, she gave me some awesome personality

Lovin' the giraffe!
This is her face saying, "Mom, you just put me over the fence so I can go pet the giraffe". Ya, she actually told me that, a few times.

Posing with the little "hip flip". Zander is just too cute, he exudes character and personality. No need to smile here.

Givin' her mommy some lovin' now.

Not sure what this pose is?
Apparently others can't take pics and get them in focus...arrggghhh! This could have been a great picture. Sorry daddy couldn't make it to the Zoo with us.

She is so sweet with little brother.

If you know Kya, you know that she does not do slides. Some fear that she has...crazy. She saw this giraffe slide and didn't even hesitate to climb. This is one long slide....I was in shock.
Apparently, animals over power any fear this girl might have. She had a smile on her face all day, and couldn't wait to get to the next exhibit. We even went through the whole Zoo, TWICE.

Going into the giraffe's bum! That was funny.
Look how long this thing is....Go Kya!
True perspective of the giraffe's height.
This scared her. She was up against the glass and the Lion hit the window right on her face....that made her jump back about a foot.
Trying to get Zander to look....but she turns away.
Then she is looking and Zander looks down. I love taking pictures of kids, they make me laugh.
Isn't that the most handsome little Tiger Tamer you've ever seen? He was just glad to get out of the stroller and do what Kya was doing.

Sounds like a fun trip! We love the zoo, but it's been a long time since we've been.

Great pictures. Paula you are awesome. The kids love being outside. I was impressed with Kya when we went fishing she was a real trooper in the breeze and the cool weather. Zander was good but hated not being abel to get down and play inthe dirt

Yeah Daddy thinks it sucks too that I was not there. I am glad however, that you guys had fun while I was in meetings instead of sitting in a hotel room all day.

I'm an awful friend- it's been forever since I've checked out your blog but I am having lots of fun catching up! I love your Halloween dinner and the ghost french toast is totally cute! I may have to steal that idea for next year (aren't cookie cutters the best invention ever? They make it so easy to be festive.)

You all look adorable in your costumes too and I can't believe how much Z has grown! He's such a stud!

P.S. LOVE Kya's poses! Cracked me up! She's such a doll- and by the way you're method of making Kya's clothes last longer is genius! I may have to steal that idea too!
