Krazy Kya

Yesterday I was upset about something, and Kya kept asking me the same question. Naturally, I snap a bit and got after her. I felt bad, because Kya didn't do anything wrong, so I apologized to her. I said, "Kya, I am sorry I was short with you, I am just upset and you didn't do anything wrong, so I am sorry". She said, "Mom, don't be upset on the weekend".

A week ago, Kya woke up from her nap and told me about this crazy dream. There were animals in it...of course...and then she was talking about the 'sea horses'. I guess if she's in the ocean, there has to be some kind of horse around...right, Jerica? So then later she went potty and came back and said "Sorry I took so long, there were seahorses on my leg". Ok???
Then the other day we were getting ready to run errands and I told Kya to get her shoes on. She said "Ok, mom, but I have seahorses on my leg". So I thought I would find out what she was talking about. "Kya, what seahorses are you talking about, I don't see any on your legs". She stomped her foot a few times and said, "See, they are there, they hurt". Then I realized that she was telling me she has a "charly-horse" in her foot. I about died laughing, it was so funny.

Last night we were at mutual and Kya wanted to sit on my lap while I was sitting on the ground. When I tried to get up I said, "Mommy is getting old, Kya". She immediately asked, "Are you gonna die, mom?" Although very cute...it made me really sad.

Kya has always been a talker...but the things she is saying lately, are very entertaining, almost daily she has me laughing.

Master Bed

I have finally finished my bedroom set. Don't know why it is, but somehow, the bedroom always gets decorated last...and I'm not even really done with the room, I just got our bedding done.
So, here is a BEFORE of our bed. Reminder: The headboard I made a year or so ago from an old door I got about 4 years ago. Yes, I moved that thing around 4 times (Carl didn't like that). But now its gorgeous. My white sheets and pillows....and then I painted our room blue (from about 5 different colors of paint we had left over)...wait until you see the "After".

TA DA.....AFTER. Here the fun part. My bed set can be changed into 4, yes FOUR, different arrangements. Let me know which you like best. (Please excuse the dust in the pictures...either my room is dusty, or my pocket camera needs to be cleaned.)

My friend's mother-in-law taught me how to quilt on her long arm and I got to do most of it. We all had fun playing around with the machine. Here is a close up. My quilt is just two California King size sheets quilted together. The duvet at the foot of the bed is a blue sheet cut up and arranged, with some curtains on the other side. The pillows are scraps of everything put together. I really had fun designing this and now I am really glad its done.
Now all I have left is the curtains, maybe a bench for the foot of the bed and some pictures to hang.

Zander Zone!

Just a bit of journaling. Zander is crawling all over the place now. It is crazy to have such a little one so mobile...Kya was so content to stay still. Zander wants to explore....and I mean everything. He is all over the place, he is crawling up the two steps from our bedroom to the hallway...falls down them too. He is my little hoover vacuum. Everytime I turn around, he has something in his mouth. I kept a pretty clean floor, but somehow he finds even the tiniest little things. Last night, Carl found him trying to escape the crib. But this morning he was standing in his crib...(first time for this). I guess this means we need to move the mattress to the lowest position now....sniff, sniff. My baby is now a little boy. He is so much fun.

But what is just as much fun, is that Kya is now so into her brother, it makes me teary-eyed (big surprise...I know). She is always talking to him now, in a cute little "I'm the big sister and I'll take care of you" voice. Yesterday in the car he was fussing, wanted to get out of the car, I imagine...and Kya was saying to him, "It's ok Zander, we'll be home real soon...hang on little buddy". I about died laughing. She is constantly giving kisses and when he was getting too close to something he shouldn't have, she ran over and said, "no, no Zander" and tried to pull him away (with one arm). I definitely stepped in on that one, didn't want a broken arm. She has become my little helper and little mommy at the same time. I am just glad that she adores him so much...(almost as much as he adores her).

So blessed, can't even count the many times!

Denver Wedding

Zander and I were blessed to be able to go to Tess and Jon's wedding. It was fun and aside from the fact that Tess was gorgeous....I think Zander stole the show. He was so cute and so well behaved. What a "rock star" (as Tess put it). It was a beautiful day and a beautiful setting up in the mountains of Denver. Zander and I were excorted down the aisle and got to sit on the front row. Tess and Jon made sure to recognize us and said some very nice things. I was crying....of course.

Bride and my cute little son admiring her....you big flirt. (I am in trouble)

Isn't he the cutest. Amy was holding him in this picture. They had fun the two of them.

Jon's family

Tess' family.

Stealing a kiss from the bride.

Handsome isn't he....you look great too Jon. hee hee

Stunning.

Mom and Zander, he was already getting tired....and we still had a reception to go. With a catnap on Auntie Emily....he was set for the night.

Grandma Leslie (Jon's mom)
Wedding cake....so cute!

They were nice to each other....good for you!
Tess and one of her brides-maid, made the topper. Princess Peach kissing Mario.

Zander paid his 50 cents in the money dance to dance with the bride.
The other Grandma Leslie and Grandpa Carl.
It was a fast and fun trip. I would travel with Zander again anyday. He was an awesome travelling companion. He had a bottle at the beginning of each flight (for take-0ff) and then slept the whole flight. Everyone on the plane was so impressed with him. He was so good and they definitely thought he was so stinkin' cute. He was charming everyone.
Thanks Z for a great week, I sure had fun with you.
Congrats, of course, to the happy couple. Tess and Jon, you two are so meant to be together, its amazing. Now "live long and prosper" (sorry Tess, that one was for Jon)
