WARNING: This post contains pictures with slightly graphic nature. But pictures tell the story. So...I hate cheap diapers because they almost always fall off of my little Z. Here is how the story goes. I fed Zander and changed his diaper. Layed him down for a nap. He was playing with his toys for a bit, but quiet and ready for sleep. I went into my office, turned on the baby monitor and proceeded to get some work done.
About an hour later, after complete silence and both my children napping...I hear a horrible scream coming from Zander. So I run upstairs to see what happened...the boy can't get out of his crib yet, so what could possibly cause him to scream "bloody murder".
Please do not judge me, or my mothering abilities, for taking pictures of my son before taking care of the problem...but I had to capture the memory.....
But of course...I would hate to leave you all from this post without some adorable pics of little Z and his charming dimples and smile. This was earlier in the day while eating breakfast.
Look how clean...and not covered in poop he is.
In fact...if I were going to blame someone...it would be ME, for being cheap and not spending the few extra bucks for a reliable diaper.
Although I do not mind one bit cleaning Z up...I felt so bad for him...I was almost in tears.

Oh, I have been there, not quite to the extent of Z's poop coverage, but close. Man that is nasty, too funny, poor kid.
That's the most discusting thing I've ever seen! Much cuter when he's clean.
Oh my gosh! That is so disgusting. Wow. I don't think I would have had the stomach to document it, but good for you.
PS: What kind of diapers are those because this is hardly an advertisement?! (Name the quote.)
Help me on the quote. Walmart Parent's Choice....certainly not this parent's choice.
Wow...I can't even imagine! Thanks for the learning experience.
Okay that is so disgusting. The other day I had a similar situation but not at all as bad as yours. I went to check in on Lizzie after putting her down for a nap and she had pulled her diaper off of her and was standing up naked along the crib like nothing even happened. Luckily she didn't have the mess you did.
It doesn't get much worse than that. We definately love our children to brave such things.
TMI Paula.... TMI
Oh my gosh! I totally could have the "I hate Wal-Mart diapers conversation" with you! I am seriously gut laughing right now and I love your honesty. No judgements. It was refreshing.
Josh's grandma watched Gemma one day and told me how I was going to spend a fortune buying pampers the way my girl poops (it is true...she could take ol Zander on...shoots it up her back and out her legs in an amazing fashion)...so I thought I would try the cheap ones- I mean if they work the same, why not right?
Never again. I have never had so many blow outs! Not only do they come off easy, they don't absorb anything. Josh says they are like pooping into a tarp!
Bless your heart. Pampers. All I can say is pampers.
Poor guy! So funny too - I had the E-X-A-C-T same thing happen less than a week ago. No poop in the face, but still pretty bad. I almost burned his crib set - it was everywhere! What a nightmare!
He looks JUST LIKE Kya in those tub pictures! Oh my goodness! Are you sure they aren't biologically related?
I can't believe you took pictures! That is so funny. You must have your camera tied to your neck. Don't worry, I am not judging you! One day, he will thank you for the pictures. Maybe. And we are totally going to go camping in the back yard when it cools down. In like 2 months! Or maybe more. But we'll do it!
Oh! I totally get it. And I'm glad you posted about it. I laughed...but only because I've been there before. I know all about the poop all over...so fun! When aspen figured out she could reach in her diaper and pull poop out and dump it on the floor...those were lovely days.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
Just kidding. So... can I ask which brand of cheap diapers you were using cause seriously... this is one lesson I do not need to learn on my own.
:) It's been a long time since I've checked your blog. Sorry. I'm a looser of a friend sometimes. Your little family is so cute and just growing up TOO fast!
You can always tell when it is your second child - the first one you would just scream and clean up right away - the second you grab the camera and take a picture. Like so many other comments we have all been there. When our kids are all grown we will look back and say why didn't I just do...it would have saved me so much headache.
ha ha! that is so sad!! poor little guy
Chris was laughing her head off about this post and told me I had to check it out, so I was aware of what it was about.... I still threw up a little
Oh Paula I'm so sorry. I teared up just looking at him. That just makes you feel so bad. But a funny memory at least. But I just want to cry for him.
Wow - that is pretty darn disgusting and hilarious at the same time. Poor guy, I would be upset too. Can't wait to see you in a couple of days!
