HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Ok, so as a kid, my mom went all out for the holidays. She was the best example of a fun mom. Because I love what she did so much, I do plan on trying to be just like her. For Valentine's Day (among other holidays), she would make us pink pancakes, color the syrup pink and even our orange juice. The best part is that she would drop red food coloring into the toilet to color the toilet water too. I LOVED IT! Although I married a man that finds any food that is not the color "it is supposed to be", disgusting, I still plan to "carry on". When my children tell me they don't like it, that's when I will stop. So I made Carl regular pancakes, and Kya and I ate the delicious pink ones.

Good for you for keeping up the tradition. I miss the pink pancakes...maybe we'll have to do it when we get home.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Way to be! Super cute-and tasty, I'm sure
Happy Valentines Day!!!
Good for you, we had pink heart shaped waffles for breakfast. I don't think mom colored the water pink for Valentine's though, I think she only did green for St. Patrick's day, and tell Carl to quit being a stick in the mud!
Happy Valentines Day to you! I love the pink pancakes, I made waffles but never thought of making them pink. Christopher and Jerry would have been surprised at that this morning, they better watch out next Valentines Day! I hope you have a great day we love you guys!
Oh, that's too fun! My mom was so fun like that too and I'm so glad because I just love all these fun things we can do on the holidays!
Paula, I did do the pink pancakes and pink milk but not the toilet water. I'm afraid pink water in a houseful of girls would not be right. I did color the water green on St. Patrick's day and we had green waffles, green pancakes, green milk, green Shamrock Shakes from McDonald's but not red water in the toilet. But, glad you are carrying on the tradition. Those were some fun times.
Fun! My mom did the same kind of things. My kids love it too. Glad to see other moms carrying on!!
Great post. Glad you made those. And I love the butter. Kya looks too cute in that picture! Give her a hug and kiss from me.
So fun! We made heart shaped pancakes and heart shaped sunnyside up eggs (after my mom's tradition as well), but I've never colored them pink, that is a cute idea though!
A (late) Happy Valentine's Day!! Paula, you're such a fun mom to want to carry on all of those suggestions! Kya is just as cute as can be... I love seeing photos of her and seeing how much she's grown up. Oh, and Paula... I keep meaning to send you an email and answer your question- those photos were taken in downtown Logan right around 1st south in random corners and allies. :)
I love fun family traditions and think your pancakes look awesome! Thanks for the inspiration!
