Movie Debut...

Zander was talkin' up a storm tonight...so I had to get it on video. Please excuse my silly talk, Z's is already a bit more sophistocated. He's so fun!

Plus, he loves his Johnny Jumper, he gets jumping like a pro. Maybe we have an athlete on our hands.

Lately...

We've been busy...and not working on the house. This time, playing. A week ago or so we had some friends over for a mallow roast around the firepit. Then yesterday we went to the pool. My sister from Kaysville was visiting this week, so Kya and Zander have had a lot of cousin time...love that. Especially when their older cousin, Jenna, loves to play with the little guys. Kya loves her. Carl took Evan, Melanie's oldest, fishing and taught him how to fly fish, then he cooked it up tonight and ate it. Tonight two of my sisters, their kids and my mom came over for hot dogs, Evan's fish and Smore's (of course). We had a great night until the weather turned on us...crazy wind and rain just came, stormin' in (ha ha). But we had a great week.

Zander was falling asleep on my shoulder out by the fire...

Then this is what we got when we got the camera on him...what a ham.

Bedtime....Kya was trying to get her shirt off. This face made me laugh, rolling on the floor. Maybe I was slap happy, but I had to get a picture.

We went to the pool yesterday and this is what Zander was doing when we got there. Party pooper! But he woke up soon after and enjoyed to water too. Kya of course wanted me to swim with her...so I managed a little play time with both, with my mom's help of course. Thinkin' I am going to get Kya into swim lessons soon, she needs to learn to not be so scared...just enough to be cautious and careful.

Zander's first pool experience. That is one bad farmer's tan....mommy!

Looks like I was trying to give him fist bump...just trying to get him to look up at the camera.

A couple days from five months old and he is already sitting up. What a talented little guy. He is definitely going to be a busy little man....mover and a groover, shaker and a maker. What a fun little boy.

Happy Father's Day!

I love this guy...how can I not. Best husband ever, and BEST Daddy ever. His kids love him so much. He's got his daddy's little girl and his boy (who for the time being is a mama's boy...love it). Greatest blessing ever...to be these two angels parent's. Carl is an amazing daddy and they are blessed to have him as a daddy.
I love you Carl, Happy Father's Day, stud!

Friday Night Family Night

Tonight I really wanted to take Kya to the drive-in and see "UP"...but we decided to spend the day digging out a firepit in our backyard and tonight, we roasted mallows. Carl and I have been wanting a firepit for a long time, and now that we own our own house...we can have one. I want to put some cute bricks around the pit to make it look official and nice, and not just a big hole in our backyard. Kya loved helping out today. She was picking up sticks and grass clumps and helping in any way she could. Zander sat in the Bumbo seat and watched. He loves to be outside. I forgot to get a picture of him outside...because he was already in bed for the mallow roast. Poor kid, he's not feeling well lately.
So here are some pics of the mallows. Good times!! I love spending time with my family, and now we don't have to drive 45 minutes to enjoy a night by the campfire. Maybe somenight we will put the tent up and camp it in the yard.

Kya made her own roasting stick.

Time Does Fly

Look how grown up he is...sitting in his little chair. (thanks to my friend Janae for loaning it to me)
Time sure does fly by when you're having fun. My little guy is four months old now. I can't believe it. We went to the doctor the other day and here are little Z's stats...

Weight: 13 lbs: 20% (still a little guy)

Height: 35 in: 60% (kinda tall)

And I can't remember his head, but its in the 20%...a long way to go to even come close to comparing to his sister's big head.

He is healthy and the doctor did not hear his heart murmur...so hopefully he's grown out of that.

Even though Zander likes to wake me up at night...he is the funniest little guy. I can always get him to laugh at me and even Kya now loves to make him laugh. What a charmer.

Things he's doing:

Playing with his hands
Chews on EVERYTHING
Laughs
Smiles a ton
Wants to sit up...rarely will you find this little guy laying on his back. He is either sitting, on his tummy or being held.
And of course he loves to talk, more spit comes out than actually cooing, but he loves to be in the middle of any converstion.
And of course, who can resist those adorable dimples. Watch out gals...he's growing up fast.

Don't worry, this little bachelor, even though a charmer, has a sensitive side. He sleeps with his teddy bear blanket. And don't forget, he will always be a momma's boy.

8th Anniversary

Carl and I celebrated 8 fantastic years together. May 30th was our anniversary. I was bound and determined to "get away" with just Carl. We have been working so hard on the house, and sleepless nights with the baby that I really wanted some time with my sweetie...away from life. And so we did. This weekend Carl and I went to the Anniversary Inn in Boise and thoroughly enjoyed two nights of blissful sleep, being lazy, watching movies and just hanging out together.

I was so great to be away, but of course we were thrilled to be back with Kya and Zander. Z gave me a huge smile when he saw me...I love that. And of course Kya gave me a huge hug...love that too. They must have had fun this weekend with grandma and grandpa because they were worn out. Kya went to bed at 5:00, without eating dinner and she is still asleep, 12 hours later. The girl parties hard.

Thanks to our families for all your help with this weekend and letting Carl and I enjoy some R&R. Now I am rejuvenated and ready to get this dang basement done. Just one more room to carpet and some cleanup...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I LOVE YOU, CARL!
