Handsome is Home!

My cutest little brother (I only have one brother, so he is definitely the cutest) is home from his mission. We picked him up at the Salt Lake airport just 45 minutes after I flew home from Denver. It was totally cool because I didn't check anything so I could greet him at the gate.

It was really fun to be at the gate, you can't do that anymore. He's even more handsome when he left. And talk about the nicest guy ever. We are all glad he is home and safe and served such a great mission in Paris, France.

Here is a quick candid of the whole family, all 27 of us, with a few on the way. Yeah for great families. By the way...if you look close, everyone is looking at the camera. Way to go Morgan grandkids...you rock!

Picture post #1

Well, this was supposed to be a big picture post....but due to technical difficulties, and lack of time (can't sit on the computer all day), I will have to finish with more pictures another time. Here are a few of our Christmas tree decorating and the first snow fall of the year for us.

Daddy and Kya hung the star together. She got a kick out of that. Of course she had just enjoyed our FHE treat, so its all over her face.

Getting ready to go outside. We had our first snow fall, the very next morning after getting Kya a snow suit for the year. We thought of it being a Christmas gift. But when the snow in Twin Falls is so unpredictable, we decided not to wait. We have since added about 4-6 inches since the first few.

Kya spent most of her time picking up all the sticks in the backyard. What a funny girl.
Our little marshmellow girl....A Christmas Story memory...anyone.

Picutres are a little backwards...again, technical difficulties.

Pictures that I am trying to upload....Our trip to the South Hills to see the lights, Kya helping mommy decorate the other tree, visit to Grandma W's for family Christmas party, and Kya being silly, oh, and of course our biggest news this weekend....My brother is home from his mission.

I will try again later to post more pics. Enjoy these for now!

Denver update

I just got back from the doctor's appointment.  T is so great.  In her words....she "cooked up a little surprise" for me and called ahead to her doctor and asked if they would do a quick ultrasound so I could see the baby while I was here.  sniff sniff

I heard the heartbeat, and saw his heart beating beautifully.  We saw him breath, and his beautiful head (its down, yeah).  We saw parts, but nothing really clear.  It was so great to see that.  T, you rock!  Heartbeats are in the 140's and she is 32 weeks.  What a great day!

Denver and REALLY missing my family

Just a quick journaling....in Denver.  Really enjoying my time with baby #2's birthparents and the freezing cold weather (not), but super emotional.  We watched a movie today that makes me cry ALL THE TIME, so of course the waterworks were running wild.  Then I called Kya and Carl.  I MISS THEM SOOOOOOO MUCH.  Carl, I love you so much and I am so grateful I have you and Kya in my life.  Kya is having so much fun, and very busy, with Grandma and Grandpa Weeks.

Tomorrow, we go to the doctor for T's 31 week appointment.  Crazy how close we are!  I just love her so much, she has been so fun to hang out with.  We have really been able to talk and be open and honest with each other....I love that.

We are so blessed by our angels (birthmoms, we call them our angels) and their honorable, heroic and unconditional decisions.  Ok, enough wishy washy stuff, I am emotional....its a good thing.

Happy Holidays!

Ok, I know this is completely lame of me, but I am not going to be able to get Christmas cards out this year....so consider this your card from us. Just because my Holiday greetings is lame and impersonal, doesn't mean I don't love all my friends and family and we wish you all a happy and healthy Holiday season and New Year!

This is my last post as public. As I am working on going private as soon as I post this. My next post will be an update of all that we have been up to and picture overload. Thanks to all who read. I love being in touch with so many friends.

Back online!

Ok, so I have the internet now, but no time to post. Spent thanksgiving with family here, just a couple days after finishing unpacking the house. Decorated last week for Christmas, then headed out of town for the Smith Family Christmas party up in Grace, Idaho. Home now and finishing up Christmas gifts and getting ready to leave for Denver soon to spend time with baby #2 birthparents. Can't wait for that. Wahoo! Planning to go private sometime this week. Too much hustle and bustle right now....but I love every minute of it. Kya is a big help with decorating for Christmas....Loved that. Countdown from little bro to come home from mission.....10 more days. Can't wait to see him.

Big post coming....sometime.

Going Private!

Not that I am trying to jump on the bandwagon...if you know me you know I don't really like to follow the crowd, but I have been feeling like I want to go private for a while now. I know there are a lot of you out there (Kya's families) that would still like to be able to keep up to date on all the cuteness that she is.

So, please send me your email address to foreverweeks@yahoo.com or leave a comment with your address so that I can invite all who wish to stay in touch. I hope this isn't too inconvenient for some, but I gotta do what I gotta do. It may be a few weeks before I go private, as I am still relying on my mom's computer for internet access. But hopefully that is enough time for all to see this post and send me your request to stay in touch with The Weeks.

We love you all and hope that you all would like to stay in touch with us, I know I love being in touch with all our great family and friends. Thanks!

Cute things to remember!

Lately, Kya has been saying some of the funniest things. I wish I would write them down more, because she cracks me up. One time she was trying to get my attention while I was talking to someone and she said, "Talk to me, mommy, you understand me?"

The girl is almost too smart for her own good, she amazes me everyday. The lastest "melt my heart" moment was yesterday when she was sick. She had a rough night tossing and turning and crying out a few times. And each time I would go in and check on her, and each time ask if she needed to go potty. Each time she went, but not really, just out of habit from me asking. (pardon the subject of this story...its worth reading anyway). So, she hasn't pooped in a week. She has always had difficult with this, but this time it was getting ridiculous. Well, when she woke up she was fevered and kept saying she had to throw up. She would run into the bathroom, cough once or twice and then say, "I'm done throwing up now".

She actually did throw up, but on the floor, not the toilet. Good thing I have wood floors...so easy to clean up. Anyway, one time she came to me and said, "I have to throw up", so I said, "go ahead, lets go to the bathroom". She ran half way there, came back to me and said, "No, I have to go potty". Again I said, "go to the bathroom". So she got on the toilet by herself (love that) and proceeded to go (don't worry, it doesn't get graffic) #2. Yeah, she has finally gone! I bet that can't feel good. Well, she was sitting there for quite awhile and I could hear her "going", but then it stopped and I heard her mumbling. Couldn't hear what she was saying until the end when she said "Amen", and the proceeded to "go (#2)" again.

My little angel was praying. Of course my heart melted and I began to cry and had to call Daddy. She needed help with something, so she prayed and asked for help. Children are so innocent and humble. I love that. I am falling in love with Kya, all over again. I just wanted to hold her all day, of course she let me because her fever was up to 104.9 at one point. We watched princess movies and Mickey Mouse and just held each other. Even at dinner she leaned over and held my face to hers so gently and said, "I love you". sniff sniff

I love being a mom and especially to Kya.

Moved....NO INTERNET!

Ok, so we have moved in and unpacking boxes. Loving being in my own house, but hating that I have no internet. I try to get back over to my mom's to borrow hers when I can. But, if and when we get the internet, I will have to put up an update post of the house and all the fun decor. Not professional...but definitely my "second hand" style.

Remember the Blessings!

November is Adoption Month. I cannot go by without posting about adoption and the amazing blessing that it is. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father's plan....for ALL of his children.

Little over two years ago, ours lives were changed by adoption. I have so many thoughts on the topic and have felt at times that as a result of our experience, I am here to sing out to the world, so to speak.

There are reasons for everything, and adoption has been the most blessed learning experience we have had, not just for the sake of being able to be parents and have our lives blessed with little dears, but for so many other valuable lessons in life.

We have learned charity for others and knowing that no matter what ones situation is, with the right direction and love, blessings do come. We have learned a little patience for what is in store for us. I say 'a little' because I am still learning patience. We have a greater understanding of Eternal Families.

Open adoption has been a new road we have traveled. Of course adoption itself was new for us, but having an open adoption with Kya's beautiful birthfamilies has been an eye opening experience. I know at times some wonder if we are doing the 'right' thing by being open, and others wonder if we have Kya's best interest in mind, and even others feel our decision was not the best decision. All I have to say is, 'this is a road we are traveling, one step at a time'.

First and foremost, Kya and her little brother, are number 1 priority when it comes to 'best interest'. They will always be the most important people to us and when it comes to their stories and who they are and where they came from, that will come as it is supposed to.

We love our birthfamilies and we love our families, and the way we see it...ultimately...we are all one family.

I am not here to "preach", open adoption is not for everyone or everysituation. I am just grateful that we have been able to have this experience with our daughter, thus far. I thank my Father in Heaven every day for Kya, adoption, temples, eternal families and the families that allow us to be a family hear on earth.

This post was a lot of journaling, and some celebration, but mostly....unconditional GRATITUDE.

One love.

One true beauty. Thank you to all who support adoption and all it entails.

Dear Kya,

You are so precious. Your beautiful eyes share so many of those who love you and whom you have touched. When first we talked about having a family, I know as every parent, we wanted to be blessed with someone beautiful, loving, caring, sweet and many others attributes. But never did we dream that you would be all, 1000 times over, and so much more.

Both your beautiful birthparents have a song for you..."my wish for you"...and this letter is My wish for you. I wish for you to be happy, to love someone, to always be warm. I wish for you to always feel safe in our arms, for you to be giving and serve others, and to feel the love of your Savior everyday. I wish for you to love those who gave you life and those who showed you the world. I pray that you will always know who you are as a daughter of God, where you came from and where you are going. And in the process of this crazy and wonderful journey, that you will enjoy every moment you have here, every person you meet will remember you for your smile and eminating light you have.

Words really cannot express the love I have for you or the gratitude I have for adoption. I wish for you to always know....
Mommy loves you!

Love Mommy

29 and counting!

Yup, you know it, my husband is getting older. As if I have room to talk...I robbed the cradle. Its Carl's birthday and he's 29. I have been asking the man...."what do you want to do for your birthday" and this is what he said, "I want to go hunting and just be lazy all day". So that is what he gets, a morning hunting with his dad and just be lazy the rest of the day. You go Carl.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!
29
WE LOVE YOU!

This year has gone by fast

This post is mostly for journaling. Actually, I love Halloween, but now that its over I can focus on the other holidays. Who am I kidding, right now my focus is on moving into our house this weekend. I am way excited to be able to move in, have my own stuff and begin to decorate. Once I have moved in, then I can focus on the holidays. I have a friend who is so great to make all her gifts and start early. My mother-in-law usually is asking me in August, what we want for Christmas. I almost always respond with, "Are you kidding, I am so not there yet, let me get to Halloween first".

I admire those who are so on top of it when it comes to the holidays. I always aspire to be on top of it, but as I have looked back at my holidays I realize that I have not really ever been in a position to be on top of it. For the first five years of my marriage I was a career woman and working all the time, then, since we have had Kya we have really been on the "move". This move into our house this weekend will be our fifth move in just over a year. Crazy! And can you believe it....I am actually thinking of our next "house remodel project".

Ok, so now, that I have rambled a little, just to get my thoughts down in writing, I can move past Halloween and move on to the next big thing. By the way...if you are reading this and you are preparing yourself for the holidays...don't forget those Christmas cards and that memorable family picture. Holidays are fast approaching, check out www.paulakphotography.blogspot.com and schedule a session.

Can't wait for the holidays....I just wish I could get my body temperature to regulate and keep me warm. Burrr!

More Halloween!

Ok, so a little bit of picture overload. But when you see this little diva playing the part of her costume...the camera just won't stop. Ok, I know I promised pics of our home remodel...don't worry, that is at the bottom of this post. I just had to finish posting our Halloween celebration and then I can move on.

Yes, I will admit it, Kya has a 'witch' for a mother.

We did a little trunk-or-treating, and donuts and cider at some friends house. Loved every minute of this halloween and Kya's sweetness, can't get enough.

Finally, here it is...another blog. I have started a blog just for our home remodel. There are a few posts there and pictures. I will continue to update as I find time. Enjoy.

Murder Mystery Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

So, as an Open House for our completed home remodel (pictures coming in next edition)....we decided to put on a Murder Mystery Dinner Party, also to kick off Halloween. It was so much fun. Enjoy the slideshow!

And for a little more fun, here are the characters and more pics in color. I love the 'roaring twenties' and so any opportunity I get to dress up and pretend, especially in that era...you betcha, I'm there.

Many thanks to our guests and all their awesome participation....looking forward to next year.

And just because I had so much fun with learning how to do 1920's makeup (thank you 'youtube'), I had to show an upclose of my makeup. Could be better, but I had fun. I don't seem to look very happy in any of the pictures....I was in character.

Halloween Early and Haunted Mansions!

So our ward Halloween party was friday night and since I have other plans for costume for a dinner party I am planning, I threw this together for the party. My sister-in-law and her family are in our new ward, so we went as witches together. It was really fun....the best part, dressing up.

Kya even got into dressing up....I LOVE IT! She was really having a blast putting on her costume. I have made reference to "FANCY NANCY" in previous posts...aka Kya's birthday gifts...but for those of you who need a little reminder, Fancy Nancy is a series of little girl books that we love to read
Here is one of the books. Well, Kya is Fancy Nancy this year for Halloween. It was fun to put this costume together, even Kya's hair played the part. Daddy didn't dress up because he got home from being out of town all week just minutes before we had to go to the party.

Our sexy witch legs. I have never been a witch before, for Halloween at least...hee hee hee...it was really fun.

Showing off her cute little panta-loons.

Lovin' it.

Then Saturday night my mom, Alicia and I went to Albion to the Haunted Mansions. It used to be the Albion Normal Teaching College and is now an abandoned campus. It has been abandoned for about 30 years or so and recently someone just bought the place and decided to put on a Haunted Mansions tour before renovation. I am totally jealous, because I saw the campus about 10 years ago and wanted to buy it and turn it into a resort, getaway....someone beat me to it. But it was totally cool and we had a great time. We were laughing most of the time, but scared just a few other times. BOO!

Miracles Do Happen

I just wanted to post this little clip from the CBS Early Show that aired this morning. This couple is my cousin and his wife...dear friends of ours. It was really fun to watch them on national tv and to have been able to share in their story. More famous cousins...too cool.

Check it out HERE.

Angie, you did a great job and you look gorgeous. Love you guys!

FHE....Halloween style!

I love Fall, and Halloween and everything that goes with it. So, I was not about to let a home remodel, or a business, or my photography get in the way of having some serious fun. I was on cloud 9 and Kya was in 7th Heaven. I am so glad she is into this.
We went to the Pumpkin Patch....went for a train ride....

...smiled pretty for the camera....

...got lost in the maze, she looks a little perplexed....

...smiled for the camera again....

...picked out the perfect pumpkins...

...smiled again for the camera, only this time with my sis and her chillins'...

...dressed up like a scarecrow....

....and then ended our FHE activity with some good ol' pumpkin carvin'. I LOVE IT!

Those silly boys didn't want to make silly faces with us...party poopers!

Check out my AWESOME socks, for the season.

And our works of art...well, mine is a true work of art...Carl didn't finish his...LOVE you tons, party pooper!
